In our tests, the KT Giga WiFi Wave 2 delivered impressive wireless performance. At close range (5 meters), we achieved speeds of up to 150 Mbps on a single device and up to 300 Mbps with multiple devices connected. At longer ranges (15 meters), speeds dropped to around 50-70 Mbps, which is still acceptable for most online activities.
KT's vision for the Wave 2 router extended beyond just a standalone device. It was a key component of a more connected home ecosystem.
The device has four Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing users to connect multiple wired devices, such as computers, smart TVs, and gaming consoles. It also features a USB 3.0 port for connecting external storage devices or printers.
Wave 2 supports "Passpoint" technology (Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint). This allows devices to connect automatically without the user needing to manually select the SSID or log in via a captive portal every time. The handoff between 5G and Giga WiFi Wave 2 is designed to be seamless and unnoticeable to the user.
While newer Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) routers offer even higher speeds and better performance in extremely dense areas, the KT GiGA Wi-Fi Wave 2
