The story begins in pre-independence India. Wasseypur is plagued by the mythical dacoit Sultana Daku, who routinely loots British trains. Shahid Khan (Jaideep Ahlawat), a shrewd opportunist, impersonates Sultana to rob the trains for his own gain. When Sultana retaliates, Shahid is banished from Wasseypur.
